Hamas demands UN to redress Palestine partition resolution

Wednesday 30-November-2016

The Hamas Movement’s department of refugee affairs has called on the UN and the international community to reverse its partition resolution on Palestine and atone for their wrongdoing towards the Palestinian people.

This came in a statement issued by the department making the 69th anniversary of the partition resolution.

The department of refugee affairs demanded the UN to review the serious ramifications that resulted from the “unjust” resolution it had issued in 1947 and all the suffering that the Palestinian people have endured at home and abroad until today.

Its statement strongly denounced the UN for unjustly “giving part of Palestine to the Zionists to establish their illegitimate entity.”

“This resolution which has obtained international status is a crime committed by the international community that fulfilled the pledge made by British foreign secretary Balfour in 1917 to establish a state for Jews on the land of Palestine” the statement underscored.

“It (the resolution) also paved the way for the Zionist gangs to commit the most heinous massacres against the Palestinian people and forcibly displace them from their own land during the Nakba year of 1948” the statement added.

The statement finally described the partition resolution as “a link in the chain of conspiracy against the Palestinian people their national cause and future.”
