The Hamas Movement has denied the remarks that were attributed by news outlets to former head of its political bureau Khaled Mishaal about Mahmoud Abbas describing such remarks as “fabrications and pure lies.”
Sama news agency recently claimed that it had quoted the website of HuffPost Arabi as saying that Mishaal called for backing Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas who was fighting a battle against the deal of the century.
In a statement on Monday Hamas said that Mishaal did not make such remarks not to mention that they were not published on the website of HuffPost in the first place.
Hamas called on Sama news agency to maintain a commitment to professionalism and credibility and apologize to its readers and followers for its repeated mistakes.
