The Hamas Movement denounced on Monday the Israeli premier Naftali Bennett’s planned visit to the settlement of Elkana in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.
Spokesman of the Hamas Movement Jihad Taha told Quds Press that visiting the illegal settlement of Elkana will not grant it legitimacy adding that the visit falls in line with the internal political wrangling in Israel.
Taha called on the Palestinian people to confront and foil Bennett’s plan. He also called on the international community to pressure Israel to end its settlement expansion in the West Bank and its brutal crimes against Palestinians.
According to Israeli media Bennett is planning to visit the settlement of Elkana on Tuesday for the first time since becoming prime minister.
Bennett will participate in celebrations commemorating 45 years since the founding of Elkana settlement according to the Jerusalem Post.
