Hamas deplores US Bahraini remarks as biased in favor of Israel

Saturday 20-July-2019

The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced recent pro-Israel remarks made by US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt and Bahrain’s foreign minister saying their comments were biased in favor of Israel at the expense of the Palestinian rights.

“Greenblatt’s remarks in which he claimed that Israel was a victim of Palestinian aggression confirm once again that the American administration adopts the right-wing Zionist vision and that it is an accomplice in the aggression against the Palestinian people” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem stated on Saturday.

Qasem described Greenblatt’s comments as a gross American disrespect and contempt for the Arab nation.

He said that such remarks were against reason and facts and could not change the reality “because Israel is always the one who attacks the Palestinian people and the West Bank is occupied so we have all the right to resist the occupation on our land.”

The spokesman also slammed Bahraini foreign minister Khalid Al Khalifa for calling Hamas an obstacle to achieving peace in the region saying his remarks “reflected blatant alignment with the Israeli narrative and contradicted all the facts on the ground.”

“The Bahraini minister’s remarks are an attempt to grant the occupation an acquittal certificate for its crime and massacres it have committed against our people and such remarks are against the position and the conscience of the nation and considered a stab in the back of our people and their resistance” the spokesman added.
