The Hamas Movement announced on Wednesday the launch of events and military parades marking its 35th founding anniversary.
Senior Hamas official Osama Mazini made the announcement during a news conference held outside the house of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin the founder of the Movement in Gaza City.
“Various and ongoing events will start now in different areas at home and abroad” Mazini told the news conference in the presence of several Hamas officials.
He explained that the events would include field and media activities and military parades to be held ahead of the central festival which would be organized next Wednesday December 14 in al-Katiba al-Khadra (Green Brigade) plaza in Gaza City.
Hamas’s main anniversary festival would be staged under the slogan “We are coming like a massive flood” according to a recent statement by the Movement.
“This slogan aims to reassure our people and Ummah that we will never allow the Judaization of the holy city (Jerusalem) nor will we let the Aqsa Mosque be divided temporally and spatially” Hamas said.
