Hamas leaders meet with Turkish ambassador to Beirut

Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ezzat al-Resheq on Friday met with the Turkish ambassador to Lebanon Hakan Çakıl at Hamas office in Beirut.

The meeting was also attended by Hamas’s representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka and other senior officials.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations the latest developments in the Palestinian arena especially the Deal of the Century and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2006.

Al-Resheq praised the role played by Turkey’s president government and people in supporting the Palestinian cause and standing against the Judaization campaigns targeting Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.

He confirmed Hamas’s keenness on achieving reconciliation that is based on real national partnership.

Hamas official called on Turkey to intensify its efforts and pressure on Israel to lift Gaza siege.

For his part the Turkish ambassador affirmed that his country will continue to support the Palestinian people’s rights and stressed the need for ending the Palestinian division and achieving reconciliation.

Çakıl also condemned the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to move the country’s embassy in Israel to the holy city.
