Gaza (PIC)- The Hamas Movement has rejected a statement issued by a number of parties within the higher follow up committee of Palestinian Islamic and national forces that called for dissolving the PA interior ministry’s executive force after blaming it for the clashes in Gaza on Thursday.
The Movement’s spokesman in Gaza told a press conference on Friday that Fatah factions and its spokesmen and armed men were responsible for the bloody events in Gaza and the West Bank.
Fawzi Barhum said that the committee’s statement held one party responsible while ignoring the other party’s involvement in what constituted a flagrant bias in favor of the Fatah faction.
He hailed the Palestinian factions that refused to sign the statement.
For their part the Islamic Jihad Movement and the PFLP-GC issued a joint statement refusing to sign the committee’s statement.
They said that the follow up committee should have waited for results of the investigative committee that was formed to probe the incidents before condemning any party.
