Hamas receives PFLP delegation in Ein al-Hilweh camp

Monday 8-January-2018

Hamas Movement has met with a delegation of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in its office in Ein al-Hilweh camp.

The PFLP delegation led by Mohamed al-Yousef was welcomed by Hamas’s political chief in Sidon Aymen Shana’a and members of the group’s political bureau.

The two parties discussed the repercussions of the U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the Netanyahu government’s vote in favor a bill legitimizing full Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The delegations further denounced the Knesset’s approval of the “unified Jerusalem” bill which provides for separating Palestinian neighborhoods from Jerusalem and prohibits relinquishing any part of the city under any future agreement.

The delegations said such racist Israeli measures will never change the status quo in the occupied Palestinian territories and Jerusalem will forever remain Palestinians’ eternal capital.

Both Hamas and PFLP stressed the need to uphold security in the Lebanon-based Palestinian refugee camps and keep the refugee cause at bay from political and partisan interests.

They further appealed to the Lebanese security forces to lift the noose around Eind al-Hilweh camp and secure a smooth access to the shelter vowing that the Palestinians will do whatever it takes to maintain calm and stability in Lebanon.
