Hamas Movement refused the Palestinian Authority (PA) decision to force 6145 Gazan workers into early retirement. This move follows the PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to pursue a punishment policy against Gaza as far as possible Hamas underlined.
The Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said in an exclusive statement to the PIC the al-Hamdallah’s government insists to abandon its legal duties with regards to the blockaded Gaza Strip. The PA and the government are upset about the Egyptian position towards Gaza and its compliance with the humanitarian demands in the besieged coastal enclave.
Qasem stressed that al-Hamdallah’s government and the PA are tightening the siege on Gaza along with Israeli occupation authorities. “Al-Hamdallah’s government measures against the Gazan people are not consistent with the spirit of national unity” he said. Qasem held the PA and the government responsible for the repercussions of these measures.
