The Hamas Movement has informed that the Central Elections Commission that it is ready for the holding of comprehensive elections.
“We have told the election commission and the factions that we are ready for the holding of elections” Hamas chief in Gaza Yehya Sinwar said on Monday.
This came in a news conference held following Sinwar’s meeting in his office with Hanna Naser chairman of the election commission and senior officials of the factions in the presence of head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya.
“We have been with our people’s choices all the time and we are always ready for the elections. We will make the elections a lever to straighten strategic paths in our people’s history” the Hamas leader added.
For his part Ismail Haneyya reiterated his Movement’s readiness for the elections and stressed the need for holding the elections for the presidency the legislative council and the national council.
“We in the Hamas Movement are ready right now before tomorrow to fight the elections and we would respect the results if all conditions of integrity and transparency were met” Haneyya said.
