Hamas Movement deplored the findings of the US investigation team into the murder of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces last May.
“We consider it a flagrant bias to the narrative of the occupation disregard for Palestinian blood and an attempt to absolve the Zionists of the heinous crime’s consequences” the Movement said in a statement issued Monday.
“In the face of these biased results by the United States which contradicted all the investigation results conducted previously including investigations by American media agencies we Hamas Movement announce our rejection of the American inquiry and question its integrity” the statement reads.
The Movement further reaffirmed that the Israeli occupation is the first and direct deliberate murderer of Abu Akleh calling for an independent international investigation taking the case to the International Criminal Court to uncover the truth and punishing the perpetrators of this crime.
On Monday the US State Department said a report by independent investigators had found that Abu Akleh was likely killed by “unintentional” gunfire from Israeli positions but could not reach a definitive conclusion about the origin of the bullet that struck her.
