Hamas slams German police for opening investigation against Abbas

Saturday 20-August-2022

The Hamas Movement has condemned the German police’s decision to conduct an investigation against Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas after he said that that Israel had committed “50 Holocausts” against the Palestinian people.

“The world’s powers prove once again their bias in favor of the Zionist occupation and their denial of the historical rights of our Palestinian people and their suffering that has been ongoing for more than seven decades” senior Hamas official Husam Badran said on Saturday.

“The Palestinian people’s suffering started when they were uprooted from their land and forcibly displaced from it to live in exile not to mention dozens of massacres that were committed against Palestinian civilians including women children and others and the detention and injury of hundreds of thousands of them” Badran underlined.

“No matter how these powers try to twist the truth cover their ears about what happens to the Palestinian people and use double standards they will never succeed in obliterating the Palestinian narrative no matter how long it takes and what means and measures they use” the Hamas official said.

He stressed that “the Palestinian people neither forget nor forgive the injustice they have been exposed to” adding that the Palestinian resistance would continue its struggle until the liberation of their land and the return of their people to the homes they were expelled from.

Berlin police launched on Friday a preliminary investigation against Abbas after he used the word “holocaust” to describe Israel’s massacres and crimes in Palestine

Abbas’s remarks which were made during a news conference in Berlin alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sparked outrage in Germany and other countries that support Israel.
