The Hamas Movement has described Israel’s attempt to pressure the Palestinian Authority (PA) to stop providing financial support for the prisoners the wounded and the families of martyrs as “desperately aimed at undermining the Palestinian social and national fabric.”
Spokesman for the Movement Fawzi Barhoum accused the Israeli occupation state of seeking to discredit Palestinian prisoners and their legitimate struggle for freedom and liberation.
“These prisoners are freedom fighters and their resistance of the occupation is legitimate and approved by international laws” Barhoum stated.
“The real terrorism is the daily killings and violations which the Zionist entity commits against Palestinian children women and elders as well as its blockade on two million Palestinians in Gaza” the spokesman highlighted.
“All forms of American and international support for the Zionist entity are practical support for terrorism and encourage more violence and killings against the Palestinian people” he added.
In recent press remarks to Fox News Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu said that the PA leadership must prove its commitment towards the peace process by halting the payment of salaries and financial allocations for the prisoners and the families of Palestinians who carried out attacks against Israelis.
