Hamas Movement slammed the Palestinian Authority (PA) for cutting off the salaries of many ex-detainees and their families saying that it is an immoral and ignominious step.
In a press statement on Monday the Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that the PA decision to cut off the salaries of ex-detainees and their families goes in line with Israeli positions and aggressive measures against Palestinian ex-detainees.
Barhoum pointed out that the PA resolution constitutes a complement to the Israeli role in targeting ex-detainees by cutting off their allowances.
Barhoum asked the PA president Mahmoud Abbas to rescind the salary cut-off decision. He also called on the Palestinian people and factions to protest against the PA offensive practices against ex-detainees.
Earlier on Sunday Prisoners Media Office Director Abdul-Rahman Shadeed affirmed that the PA stopped monthly payments for a large number of ex-detainees and their families.
