Hamas on Thursday reiterated its commitment to national reconciliation saying the group has left no stone unturned to heal the national rift.
Political bureau member of Hamas Salah al-Bardawil said Hamas is ready to dissolve the governmental emergency committee as soon as the consensus government takes up its duties as regards the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Hamas further called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) to cease its oppressive measures on Gaza under the pretext that the administrative emergency committee was formed against the PA’s will.
The group also called on the Palestinian factions to immediately embark on national reconciliation talks and carry out consultations with all parties to form a national consensus government activate the Palestinian Legislative Council and prepare for legislative elections at the soonest time possible.
The Palestinian Authority chaired by Mahmoud Abbas and its allied Fatah party have tightened the noose around Gaza’s neck suspending the salaries of civil servants prisoners and ex-prisoners living in the besieged Strip. The PA has also stopped medical referrals for Gaza’s patients killing a score of them.
