Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem welcomed the European Union’s call for a prompt investigation into the killing of Palestinian girl Fulla Masalma 16 near Ramallah by Israeli occupation forces (IOF).
In a statement issued Wednesday Hamas spokesperson also called on the EU to take practical steps towards holding the Israeli occupation’s leaders accountable for their crimes against Palestinians.
The EU has earlier called for an immediate investigation into the Israeli army’s killing of the 16-year-old Palestinian Fulla Masalma near Ramallah in northern occupied West Bank.
The EU offered its sincere condolences to the Masalma family adding that “Fulla was supposed to celebrate her 16th birthday yesterday but was tragically killed by gunfire from Israeli soldiers near Ramallah yesterday” [Monday].
“This incident should be swiftly investigated and accountability ensured” it added.
Masalma was proclaimed dead after she was seriously injured in the head when the IOF soldiers opened fire on a vehicle she was on board.
30 Palestinians including 9 children were killed by the IOF live bullets in several areas of the West Bank in the past month of October.
Since the beginning of 2022 the IOF killed more than 200 Palestinians including women and children from the West Bank and Gaza.
