Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah Coordinator of the Israeli Government Activities in the Territories Yoav Mordechai and UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolay Mladenov met in Ramallah on Wednesday Hebrew media sources reported.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on Thursday said the meeting addressed the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
According to the paper Hamdallah requested removing all Israeli restrictions on the Palestinian citizens’ movement between the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Israel a few days ago allowed international intervention to save the Gaza Strip from economic and humanitarian collapse.
Hebrew channel 10 said that the decision was made following a consultation session between Israel’s War Minister Avigdor Lieberman Chief of General Staff of the Israeli army Gadi Eizenkot Yoav Mordechai and the head of the Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman).
The meeting included an assessment of the situation in the Gaza Strip and it was decided to open the door to Arab and international assistance under specific security conditions.
Lieberman was quoted last week as saying that his government will not impede the work of any international body that wants to help Gaza.
The Gaza Strip have been suffering from severe deterioration in the economic health and humanitarian sectors resulting from the Israeli blockade since 2006 and the collective punishment measures the Palestinian Authority imposed on the enclave in April 2017.
