Haneyya: Hamas adheres to Yasin’s ideology

Ismail Haneyya the deputy head of the Hamas political bureau said on Wednesday that Hamas still adheres to the principles established by its founder Sheikh Ahmad Yasin.

Haneyya was speaking during a visit a Hamas senior delegation paid to Sheikh Yasin’s house on the 13th anniversary of his martyrdom. The delegation included Ismail Haneyya Yahya al-Sinwar the leader of Hamas Movement in Gaza and his deputy Khalil al-Hayya as well as Rawhi Mushtaha political bureau member.

Haneyya pointed out that Yasin’s martyrdom anniversary coincided with the accomplishment of the first phase of Hamas’s internal elections in Gaza which are considered an actual embodiment of the values of consultation and joint action founded by Sheikh Yasin.

He confirmed Hamas’s adherence to its irreversible principles which stipulate that Palestine is indivisible and resistance is a strategic choice to achieve Palestinians’ aspirations.

He also pointed to the principle of national unity which was adopted by Sheikh Yasin who strived to build a unified political system government and national program.

The Palestinian leader also hailed the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and vowed to work to free them.

Haneyya praised the Jordanian judiciary for issuing a resolution not to hand over the Palestinian ex-prisoner Ahlam al-Tamimi to the United States. He also saluted Rima Khalaf who “expressed through her resignation from the UN that Arab women are able to support the Palestinian cause at any forum”.
