Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has said that the Gaza Strip would never be separated from the West Bank expressing his Movement’s readiness to make major strides in restoring the national unity.
Haneyya made his remarks on Tuesday at a graduation ceremony held at the University of Palestine in central Gaza.
The Hamas leader stressed the need to end the division in view of the difficult conditions being encountered by the Palestinian cause which he described as “the nation’s cause.”
“Our cause should be functioning as a compass for the nation in light of the turbulence in the region” he said adding that his Movement wants to define the nature of its relationship with all the regional powers and to have open relations with them.
