Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has described the landing of an Israeli plane in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as “an unfortunate and painful moment for every Palestinian and every free Arab man and woman.”
“Israel is an enemy and such point must remain clear to everyone. Such agreements and visits will not change the historical and geographical facts” Haneyya said on Wednesday in a statement released by his office.
He emphasized that “Israel is neither part of the solution nor of the region.”
Meanwhile Haneyya met with speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri and expressed his Movement’s solidarity with Beirut which is reeling from a devastating explosion.
The Hamas leader stressed during his meeting with Berri that “a strong united and stable Lebanon is strategic asset for the Palestinian cause.”
He discussed with the Lebanese speaker different issues of mutual interest and the political developments in the Palestinian and Arab arenas including the US deal of the century and the Israeli-UAE normalization deal according to Haneyya’s office.
