Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya on Saturday phoned Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif and expressed his Movement’s solidarity with Iran in its battle against the coronavirus and US sanctions.
According to Hamas Haneyya condemned the ongoing US sanctions on Iran during such circumstances as “unjust and inhumane” and offered his sincere condolences over the passing of Iranian officials lawmakers and citizens who recently died of coronavirus.
Zarif for his part thanked Haneyya for his phone call and his brotherly solidarity with the country affirming that the Islamic Republic would always support the Palestinian people and their resistance.
He also stressed the need to end the siege on Gaza and release Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
