The Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees has warned of the serious health condition of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.
It said in a press release on Sunday that cancer-stricken Abu Hamid is in critical health condition and announced an e-campaign in support of his immediate release.
The Commission pointed out that the doctors in Barzilia hospital kept him in a state of induced coma due to his body’s inability to get rid of fluids in his lung.
It said that Abu Hamid 50 is not responding to medical treatment and urged the world community to intervene to save his life.
Abu Hamid who is originally from Am’ary refugee camp in Ramallah was detained since 2002 and is serving seven life sentences plus 50 years on charges of resisting occupation and co-founding the Fatah-affiliated Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
