Groups of Jewish settlers on Monday morning stormed al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem under tight police guard.

Jerusalem’s Islamic Awqaf Council said that 39 Israeli settlers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque while accompanied by a large police force.

The settlers performed Talmudic rituals and roamed the site while receiving presentations on the alleged “Temple Mount”.

Eyewitnesses said that 57 Jewish settlers led by Israel’s former Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning.

The settlers roamed al-Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards and performed provocative rituals at the site before they left through al-Silsila Gate.

The Islamic Awqaf in Jerusalem said that 39 settlers 60 Jewish students from religious institutes and 18 intelligence officers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in the early morning hours.

Large police forces accompanied the settlers as they roamed al-Aqsa courtyards.

Local sources said that the settlers carried out provocative tours for hours inside al-Aqsa compound while accompanied by a large police force.

The Israeli police at night Sunday stormed al-Aqsa Mosque attacked the Palestinian worshipers who were present there for Ramadan prayers and forced them out.

Violent clashes broke out between the Israeli police forces and Palestinian worshipers in the nearby Bab al-Amud area where the police fired stun grenades and arrested two children.

The Israeli police scrutinized the Palestinian worshipers’ IDs detained a number of them outside the Mosque and ordered al-Aqsa guards to step away from al-Silsila Gate.

The Israeli settlers conducted provocative tours and performed Talmudic rituals inside al-Aqsa compound while escorted by a large police force eyewitnesses said.

Settler break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque have been intensified since the beginning of the week for the Passover holiday.

Scores of extremist Israeli settlers on Tuesday forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque under police guard.

According to the Islamic Awqaf the Israeli police allowed 30 settlers to enter al-Aqsa Mosque and perform Talmudic rituals near Bab al-Rahma area in the early morning hours.

Four Israeli intelligence officers stormed the site during the same period the Islamic Awqaf said.

Israeli Temple Mount groups have called for mass break-ins into Bab al-Rahma prayer area on Thursday and called for a ban on the work of the Islamic Awqaf in al-Aqsa Mosque.

Over a week ago dozens of Palestinian worshipers and Awqaf officials managed to open the gate of Bab al-Rahma area after 16 years of Israeli closure. The Israeli police have arrested many of them and ordered others to stay away from the Mosque or the Old City of Jerusalem for different periods.

It added that 28 Israeli government officials along with 11 army officers entered the Mosque during the same period.

The Israeli police escorted the settlers during the break-in until they left the site via al-Silsila Gate.
