Hundreds of Israeli settlers defiled al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday escorted by a large Israeli police force.
Quds Press reported quoting an Islamic Awqaf source that 287 settlers entered the Mosque through al-Maghareba Gate which has been controlled by Israel since 1967 in the morning hours.
The news agency said that the settlers roamed the Mosque’s courtyards before they left the site through al-Silsila Gate under heavy police presence. Other groups of settlers performed Talmudic rituals at al-Aqsa gates in celebration of Shavuot Holiday.
