Palestinian detainee Mikdad al-Qawasme who has been on hunger strike in Israeli prisons for 68 days was transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Monday.
The detainee’s family said that the Israeli Kaplan hospital transferred Mikdad to ICU after deterioration of his health condition.
Mikdad suffered suffered from health complications that led to slower heart rate while in Ramle prison hospital a few days ago and was carried to Kaplan hospital.
The 24-year-old detainee from al-Khalil was re-arrested in January this year and sentenced to six months in administrative detention without trial or indictment and when it was about to end the Israeli intelligence ordered renewal of his detention administratively for another six months which pushed him to declare hunger strike.
