The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Thursday resumed levelling Islamic Waqf-owned lands north of Silwan town south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Researcher in Jerusalem studies Fakhri Abu Diab told SAFA news agency that the IOA bulldozers resumed carrying out levelling operations in the Umayyad palaces area in addition to Palestinian lands adjacent to the southeastern wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“The leveling operations which started on Wednesday were carried out in 50 dunums out of a total area of 120 dunums” researcher Diab said adding that the IOA plans to establish Biblical National Parks to surround the Old City of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Diab stressed that such Judaization plans that aim at distorting the history of Jerusalem and changing its landmarks violate international laws and conventions.
He affirmed that the IOA had constructed fake graves in the Saloudha area near the Umayyad palaces adding that such plans aim at obliterating the landmarks of Jerusalem and seizing control of the area.
