Wednesday 6-October-2021

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished a Palestinian house on Wednesday morning and notified three other families of the near demolition of their homes in Silwan town to the south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Local sources affirmed that Israeli police officers stormed early today Al-Lawza neighborhood in Silwan and demolished a one-story house owned by Muhammad Matar.

Matar was earlier forced to demolish a part of his house for being built without Israeli permit.

Nearby commercial stores were forced to shut down during the demolition process the sources added.

Three other families were also notified of the demolition of their homes in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan in Occupied Jerusalem.

The families were given until November 5 to evacuate the notified homes which were built before the Israeli occupation of eastern Jerusalem in 1967.

Member of the Silwan Land Defense Committee Fakhri Abu Diab warned that the demolition orders came as part of the Israeli plan to impose full control over Occupied Jerusalem.
