The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) decided to impose further restrictions on Palestinians’ access to al-Aqsa Mosque next Wednesday coinciding with Laylatul Qadr the 27th of Ramadan.
According to the new regulations men under the age of 40 will not be allowed to enter the compound or pray there. However men aged between 40 and 50 need permits to do so.
Only men over the age of 50 women of all ages and children under the age of 12 are allowed in without restrictions.
Since the start of the holy month of Ramadan Palestinians’ access to al-Aqsa has been tightly restricted while Jewish settlers are allowed in under police protection.
