Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday quelled a number of Palestinian marches in the West Bank provinces with no injuries or arrests reported.

The IOF quelled a march organized by Fatah Movement in al-Khalil in front of the Ibrahimi Mosque in protest at the Israeli government’s decision to establish an independent municipal administration for settlers in the Old City of al-Khalil.

IOF soldiers assaulted the participants dispersed them by force and intensified their presence in the courtyard of the Ibrahimi Mosque and at the nearby checkpoints and metal detectors.

The protesters condemned the repeated closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque and the erection of more checkpoints and metal detectors in the city under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish holidays.

In Qalqilya the IOF quelled the anti-settlement weekly march of Kafr Qaddum which demands opening the town’s road that has been closed for more than 14 years in favor of the settlers of the illegal settlement of Kedumim.

Shtewi denounced the Israeli celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of settlement activity in the West Bank calling on Palestinians to escalate popular resistance in all its forms.

The protesters congratulated the Palestinian people for the recognition of Palestine as a member-state in the Interpol and praised the diplomatic efforts made by the Palestinian leadership calling for the continuation of such efforts to end the Israeli occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In Ramallah the IOF quelled the weekly demonstration of Ni’lin which is organized against the settlement and the apartheid wall.

Member of the popular committee against the wall and settlement in Ni’lin Mohammed Amira said that the IOF soldiers fired sound bombs and tear gas canisters at the demonstrators and chased them in the olive groves in the village with no arrests reported.
