IOF shooting wounds Palestinian

Tuesday 9-January-2007

BEIT HANUN (PIC)– A 20-year-old Palestinian youth was injured on Monday when IOF soldiers stationed just outside the Gaza Strip shot at him near the industrial area north of Beit Hanun city.

Locals said that soldiers near the Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing fired at Sa’eed Abu Jarad wounding him with a bullet in the shoulder.

In Al-Khalil district IOF troops escorted huge tractors that started bulldozing a road linking the settlement of Sossia to newly annexed Palestinian lands in Yatta village east of Al-Khalil.

Witnesses said that the confiscated land lot was more than 150 dunums in area that was cultivated with trees and other plantations.

They said that the one kilometer road aimed at expanding the settlements in the area at the expense of Palestinian lands which the IOF troops prevented their owners from reaching.

For its part the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement the Quds Brigades on Monday took the credit for firing two Quds-3 home made missiles at Sderot settlement in the western Negev.

It said that the shelling was a natural response to Israeli constant violations of the truce that included daily arrests in lines of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the killing of four citizens and wounding 30 others last Thursday in Ramallah.
