Clashes erupted on Saturday evening at the Shu’afat refugee camp’s checkpoint in the suburbs of Occupied Jerusalem and in Kafr Qaddum town east of Qalqilya during which the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired tear gas and metal bullets at Palestinian citizens.
Local sources reported that IOF soldiers were deployed at the Shu’afat checkpoint and fired teargas canisters at Palestinian citizens shops homes and vehicles which shattered the windows of several cars and dozens of Palestinians suffered breathing difficulty.
Meanwhile IOF fired dozens of gas bombs during the clashes in Kafr Qaddum village. The Palestinian youths responded to the IOF attacks by firing firecrackers and Molotov cocktails.
Local sources reported that IOF quelled on Friday the weekly march and fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas at the participants in the march. Four Palestinians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets and dozens suffered breathing problems.
For the ninth year in a row the weekly anti-settlement marches are organized to demand the reopening of the Kafr Qaddum main street which has been closed due to the Israeli settlement expansion.
