The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced late on Tuesday evening that a Palestinian citizen was shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near the crossroads of Beita town south of Nablus.
Local sources pointed out that Shadi Salim 41 was wounded by IOF and taken in an Israeli army vehicle before his death was announced.
This brings the total number of martyrs of Mount Sobeih to five citizens since the beginning of the popular uprising more than seventy days ago in addition to hundreds of injuries including dozens with live bullets.
Meanwhile the IOF soldiers ambushed young men near the mountain and arrested a number of them.
The people of Beita carry out daily protest activities in response to Jewish settlers’ attempt to seize the lands of Mount Sobeih and establish a new settlement outpost on its summit.
