IOF suppresses pro-prisoners marches

Dozens of Palestinians were injured after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) brutally suppressed pro-prisoners marches marking the Palestinian Prisoner Day on Sunday evening.

In al-Khalil a Palestinian suffered live shot injuries while dozens suffered from teargas inhalation when IOF soldiers suppressed a march marking the Palestinian Prisoner Day.

IOF soldiers also stormed a local mosque east of the city and severely beat a child causing him different injuries.

In Bethlehem violent clashes erupted late on Sunday when IOF troops attacked a Palestinian demonstration marking the Palestinian Prisoner Day. A Palestinian young man was shot and injured in his foot during the clashes.

Similar clashes broke out in Fasayel village north of Jericho amid heavy firing of teargas and sound bombs. No injuries were reported.

4500 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli jails including 32 women 160 children and 500 administrative detainees held without charge or trial.

According to the rights group Addameer 12 of 32 Palestinian women held in Israeli prisons are mothers and about 160 Palestinian children aged 12-17 are in Israeli detention.
