IOF targets farmers fishermen in Gaza

Thursday 28-April-2022

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) targeted Palestinian farmers near the border fence east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday.

According to local sources Israeli soldiers opened fire at Palestinian farmers working in their agricultural lands east of Khan Younis forcing them to leave the area.

Meanwhile the Israeli navy detained two fishermen for several hours and seized their fishing boat while sailing off Gaza shores on Wednesday evening.

The two fishermen were later released after being investigated.

Human rights sources earlier revealed that Israeli navy forces have committed 97 violations of Palestinian fishermen’s rights in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of 2022.

Under an inhumane siege the Israeli army keeps attacking — sometimes injuring or killing — farmers and fishermen almost on a daily basis without any shred of respect for mediated ceasefire deals in Gaza or even the international law.
