The International Committee of the Red Cross told Palestinian prisoners’ families on Thursday that the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has canceled the visits to the prisoners till the end of September due to the recent situation.
IPS jailors backed by Israeli special military units launched a brutal crackdown on Palestinian prisoners especially in the prisons of Negev Ofer Gilboa and Ramon.
In response Palestinian inmates in those prisons set fire to a number of cells.
IPS imposed punitive measures against the Palestinian prisoners especially in Gilboa jail after 6 prisoners managed to tunnel their way out of the jail.
In this regard the Palestinian Captive Movement in Israeli jails announced a rebellion against these punitive measures.
Many protests took place all over the Palestinian cities to support the prisoners.
