The Israeli prison service (IPS) has transferred all the Palestinian prisoners with health problems from the Ramla prison’s infirmary to quarantine after one of them tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs on Tuesday all the 17 patients in the Ramla infirmary were quarantined after one prisoner was diagnosed with coronavirus.
The Commission said that the Ramla jailers refused to provide its lawyers with more information about this issue or the name of the infected prisoner.
The Commission held the IPS fully responsible for the lives of these quarantined prisoners stressing that the virus could not have infiltrated the infirmary without real medical negligence on the part of its doctors and workers.
