The Israeli prison service (IPS) has transferred Palestinian prisoner Jamal Abul-Haija a senior Hamas official who is serving multiple life sentences to another jail.
According to local sources in Jenin 61-year-old Abul-Haija was transferred from his cell in Hadarim jail to Gilboa jail with no known reason.
Abul-Haija has been serving nine life sentences since his arrest on August 26 2002.
All his relatives including his wife and children have been exposed for long years to different forms of persecution and suppression at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces.
Three of his sons Abdul-Salam Asem and Emad are also in Israeli jails while his son Hamza was killed during clashes with Israeli forces in March 2014.
