Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday when the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces violently quelled demonstrations marking the 31st anniversary of the founding of Hamas movement.
The PIC reporter said that the PA security forces who were deployed in large numbers in al-Khalil and Nablus during Friday prayer attacked the demonstrators including young men and women and elderly people with beating and kicking and heavy firing of live ammunition and teargas canisters.
Local sources said that dozens of Palestinian youths were arrested while others injured by beating with batons and rifle butts. Eyewitnesses reported seeing worshipers bleeding from their heads and faces.
They added that the PA security forces further confiscated the Hamas flags and loudspeakers used by the demonstrators.
