Injuries as Israeli army crushes Palestinian women’s march

Wednesday 7-March-2018

A number of Palestinians were left injured on Wednesday after Israeli soldiers stationed at the Qalandia checkpoint north of Occupied Jerusalem attacked a march marking the International Women’s Day.

Israeli patrols reportedly showered the women with teargas and stun grenades as the march approached the heavily fortified checkpoint in an attempt to disband the protesters.

Several protesters including women choked on teargas and were treated by Red Crescent paramedics.

The event was staged by the national factions to celebrate the International Women’s Day marked on February 8 and protest the U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
