Injuries reported as Israeli forces aggressively disband Gaza protests

Friday 7-July-2017

A Palestinian youth sustained wounds and others choked on teargas after the Israeli occupation forces on Friday afternoon came down heavily on peaceful protests demanding an end to the Israeli siege on Gaza.

Reporting from the scene a PIC news correspondent said a youngster was shot and injured by the occupation soldiers in his head as he joined a series of non-violent demonstrations staged east of Jabaliya north of Gaza Strip to push for an end to the Israeli blockade on Gaza. The wounded youth was rushed to a hospital for urgent treatment.

The occupation soldiers also attacked journalists and on-the-spot reporters with randomly-discharged spates of teargas canisters resulting in several suffocation cases. A journalist working for Shehab News Agency was hit with a teargas grenade.

Hundreds of Palestinians took to Gaza streets on Friday demanding that the Israeli occupation lift the noose tightened around Gazans’ neck and immediately halt its siege on the enclave.

A decade-long blockade imposed on the costal enclave of Gaza has turned the area into the world’s largest open air prison.
