The Islamic Jihad Movement has strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces for launching a political arrest campaign against Palestinian citizens and ex-detainees in the occupied West Bank accusing them of “serving the Zionist agenda.”
In a press release senior Islamic Jihad official Ahmed al-Mudalal said the recent arrest campaign means that the PA and its security forces stand in the face of the Palestinian popular struggle against the occupation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Mudalal condemned PA president Mahmoud Abbas for marginalizing other major national factions and political forces in the Palestinian arena and for imposing sanctions on Gaza stressing that “Abbas only represents himself.”
He urged the Palestinian people in the West Bank to respond to this arrest campaign by escalating their resistance of the Israeli occupation in their areas.
