The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs has warned of official Israeli intents to promote and endorse racist legislation that allow the execution of “Palestinian prisoners” convicted by Israeli courts of committing murder.
“Such a step is a link in the long chain of laws and legislation that the occupation state seeks to approve with the aim of tightening the grip on the prisoners and increasing their suffering” the Commission said in a statement on Saturday.
The Commission described the Israeli intent to devise such legislation as a “reflection of the enormity of Israeli racism and the state of hatred and revenge that has dominated the Israeli leaders’ way of thinking.”
“This means that the occupation state with all its means and capabilities has failed for decades to achieve its goal of breaking the prisoners’ will and stripping them of their only weapon represented by determination fortitude and steadfastness although it uses different forms of execution against the prisoners most notably the medical neglect policy and the on-site shooting of detainees” the Commission said.
