Israel’s land grab policy escalating south of Nablus

Wednesday 21-June-2017

The Israeli occupation authority bulldozers on Wednesday leveled Palestinian land lots south of Nablus in favor of illegal settlement expansion.

Coordinator for the popular anti-settlement committee south of Nablus Bashar al-Qaryouti said efforts have been in full swing by the occupation government to grab hold of Palestinian lands in the area and expand illegal settlements.

Al-Qaryouti warned of the escalated pace of Israel’s settlement construction at the expense of Palestinians’ own lands in Qaryout and Jaloud towns in the occupied West Bank.

According to al-Qaryouti the move dovetails Israel’s so-called Emek Shiloh settlement scheme aiming to dismember the West Bank and hold sway over thousands of dunums of Palestinian cultivated tracts.

Ghassan Daghlas in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank said over nine Israeli bulldozers have been leveling Palestinian lands in Nablus’s southern towns of Qaryout al-Sawiya al-Laban and Senjel after the Israeli government seized the area and declared it “state property.”
