Israel still pursues terrorism though in different forms

Friday 13-July-2018

Since its establishment and up to the present time Israel has been involved in shedding Palestinian blood starting from Deir Yassin Lod Sabra and Shatila and not ending with the crimes of genocide in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

A terrorist entity which was built on terrorist massacres that did not differentiate between children women and the elderly and which pursued the demolition of houses on the heads of its inhabitants has never changed. Its record is full of hundreds of massacres that history refuses to forget and erase. Palestine’s soil refuses to hide this blood.

Evacuation of Khan Al-Ahmar and the strangulation of Gaza
The 70th massacre of Lod which was led by Yitzhak Rabin was accompanied by an Israeli campaign to forcibly evacuate Khan Al-Ahmar east of Jerusalem and coincides with an ongoing siege on the residents of Gaza at a time Israel continues killing protesters at the Great March of Return and is stealing Palestinian land thus faking history and geography.

The painful anniversary comes at a time Jerusalem groans under the yoke of Judaization and Palestinians inside Israel are facing racist projects the Jewish-only settlements in the West Bank are expanding at the expense of Palestinian lands and Israeli settlers continue spreading their terrorism everywhere.

Palestinians mark the massacre and Israel continues to practice its terrorism in various forms. Every day Israel commits crimes against land people history and geography.

The Lod massacre
The massacre of Lod was the most famous massacre by the Palmach forces against the Palestinians on 10 July 1948. The operation known as ‘the Danny Campaign’ was carried out to quell an Arab revolt in July 1948 against the Israeli occupation.

Lod is located 38 km northwest of Jerusalem and it is one of the oldest cities in Palestine.

‘The Danny Campaign’ was the symbolic name of the offensive on the cities of Lod and Ramle located half way between Jaffa and Jerusalem.

On July 10 1948 Ben-Gurion appointed Yigal Allon as the commander of the offensive on Lod and Ramle with Yitzhak Rabin as his deputy. Yigal Allon ordered the bombardment of the city from the air with Lod was the first city to be attacked this way.

The bombing was followed by an attack on the center of the city which pushed the remnants of the Arab Salvation Army stationed near the city to leave after receiving orders from British commander Glubb Pasha to withdraw.

After the volunteers and the Arab Legion soldiers abandoned Lod residents men of the city used some old rifles to defend the city from inside the Dahmash mosque in the center of the city. After hours of fighting they ran out of ammunition and had to surrender but the Zionist forces attacked them inside the mosque killing all of them.

Details of the Lod massacre
Zionist forces were ordered to shoot at anyone seen on the street. The Palmach forces opened heavy fire on all pedestrians brutally suppressed the revolt within a few hours moving from house to another shooting at any moving target. Some 250 Palestinians were killed as a result.

According to Kenneth Bilby a reporter for the Herald Tribune who entered Lod on July 12 Moshe Dayan led a column of jeeps in the city that was carrying a number of soldiers armed with rifles machine guns including 60m machine guns and artillery shooting at any moving object as they drove throughout the main streets of the city!

The corpses of Palestinians men and women including the bodies of children were scattered in the streets in the wake of the attack.

The Dahmash mosque massacre
When the Zionist commando unit under the leadership of Yitzhak Rabin attacked the city of Lod on the evening of July 11 1948 and the city was under a barrage of artillery shells and heavy fire the residents took refuge in the Dahmash mosque but the Zionists stormed the mosque and continued shooting killing 426 Palestinians. Some accounts indicate that the number of martyrs reached about 1300. The Zionist forces burned the bodies of the dead in front of the gate of the city’s cemetery after stacking them on top of each other.
