The Israeli government on Monday decided to ban the travel of Hamas members in Gaza and their first-degree relatives to the 1948 occupied Palestine for treatment.
The decision came in response to a petition filed by the family of the Israeli soldier Hadar Goldin who was captured by Hamas during the 2014 war to the Israeli Supreme Court asking the cabinet to fully implement its decisions that called for further pressure on Hamas to reveal the fate of the missing soldiers.
The Israeli occupation totally refuses to allow Hamas members to enter the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories for any reason but in some cases it allows their sick relatives to receive treatment there.
The Israeli government instructed the so-called Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories to reject all requests from Hamas members and their first-degree relatives for permits to travel to the 1948 occupied Palestine for medical treatment.
Hadar’s family welcomed the government’s decision and considered it a “victory” over Hamas hoping that it would be a step toward bringing back the Israeli soldiers held in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas movement had announced that four Israeli soldiers were captured during the 2014 war on Gaza without giving further details on their condition.
