An Israeli military court on Sunday extended the detention of Amjad Na’alwa the brother of a Palestinian young man who recently carried out a shooting operation in Barkan industrial settlement in the occupied West Bank.
The detention of Amjad is part of Israeli punitive measures taken by the Israeli intelligence against the Na’alwa family after their son Ashraf shot dead two Jewish settlers in his workplace in the Barkan settlement.
Informed sources told a reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the military court in Salem base west of Jenin rejected a request filed by a lawyer to release Amjad on bail and extended his detention.
Amjad was kidnapped from his home in Shuweika suburb of Tulkarem one day after his brother Ashraf carried out the shooting attack and escaped the scene.
Ashraf has managed to remain out of sight since October 7 2018.
