The Israeli occupation army on Thursday notified the local residents of Khirbet Humsa al-Fawqa hamlet of its intent to conduct military drills in their area and ordered them to leave their homes next Monday.
Local official Moataz Bisharat said that Israeli forces stormed the hamlet and handed notices to all the families ordering them to evacuate their homes on May 3 2021 at the pretext that there would be military exercises in the area.
The Israeli army frequently conducts live fire exercises after displacing many Bedouin families in the Jordan Valley and the central West Bank.
Many Palestinians including children have been injured or killed by unexploded ordnance left by the army during previous trainings.
The Israeli army always causes damage to property and vast tracts of agricultural and pastoral land during such drills.
According to human rights groups incessant military training in the northern Jordan Valley is part of Israel’s longstanding policy aimed at making living conditions in Palestinian communities unbearable and forcing the local residents out of their areas.
The displacement of civilians firing of live ammunition explosions and road closures that take place during such drills are not reported by Israeli and international media.
