Israeli authorities bar Jenin businessmen from entering Lower Galilee

Saturday 15-October-2016

The Israeli security authorities at Jalama crossing north of Jenin city have revoked the entry permits of more than 100 Palestinian workmen and merchants and prevented them from going to the Lower Galilee in the 1948 occupied territory.
A businessman told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Friday that an Israeli officer at the crossing withdrew and tore permits of many citizens at the pretext that they were workmen and their permits were for trade purposes.
The officer accused the passengers of using permits issued by the chamber of commerce to work in Israeli areas according to that businessman.
Informed sources affirmed to the PIC that over 100 permits had been invalidated on Thursday and Friday at the crossing.
A large number of Palestinian workmen and merchants in Jenin travel through the crossing in order to work or trade in Israeli areas and such measure will significantly affect the living conditions of their families.
