Israeli authorities demolish Araqib village for 193rd time

Thursday 30-September-2021

Israeli authorities demolished on Thursday the al-Araqib village in the southern Negev for the 193rd time since 2000.

This demolition is the second in September and the 11th in 2021. The Bedouin families of Araqib rebuild the village every time the Israeli authorities demolish it to protect them from the heat of summer and the cold winter.

The Israeli authorities aim at forcing the residents of the village to leave it a thing which the families absolutely refuse.

Araqib is a village located in the southern Negev and contains almost 40 houses mostly made of tin where around 300 people live.

Araqib is one of 45 Negev villages that the Israeli authorities do not recognize and deprive them of basic rights and services such as health education and power and water networks.
