Israeli authorities prevent life-sentenced detainee from family visits

The Israeli occupation authorities have been preventing a Palestinian detainee from family visits for several years running his family said on Wednesday.

41-year-old Youssef Abdul Rahim Eskafi has been denied the right to family visits in Israeli jails for years his family said.

Eskafi’s wife children brothers sisters and parents have all been banned from visiting their imprisoned relative under the security pretext.

Prisoner Eskafi was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in 2004 and sentenced to four back-to-back life-terms.

He is currently held in the Israeli Nafha jail where he had been diagnosed with cardiovascular diseases. His daughter died from a severe mental breakdown she sustained during a visit she paid to her father behind Israeli prison bars.

Eskafi’s brother Alaa is sentenced to life in an Israeli lock-up. They could not bid last farewell to their father who died a few months ago.
